I was wondering if there is anyone on this forum that is currently taking Low Dose Naltrexone to help with their Crohns?
I started a little over a month ago, and am just wanting to know how other peoples bodies reacted to it, and how long they took it until they started to notice a difference.

Thanks for letting me know that - there is a Naturopath in town and I will contact her. It has been suggested that I try the AIP diet as well and am trying to get educated on that. My brother is a pharmacist at a major university and says he has heard a lot of people have had success with LDN but that the evidence is mostly anecdotal (guess because there's no big pharmaceutical profit in it). We'll see what my gastro thinks of my "plan" - I see him next week. Best wishes to you and your health.

Once I reached 3 mg dosage of LDN, I felt incredible. Better than I have ever felt since I started feeling the symptoms of Crohns.
Once I went up to 4 mg, however, I felt worse than I have ever felt before. It's different for everyone though, I am going back to 3 mg tonight to see if I feel better again. A lot of people find their "happy spot" with LDN around 3-3.5 mg, but its recommended to go up to 4 mg just to see how things work out. It's all just trial and error, and hopefully success in the end. I swear though, once I was taking 3 mg, I felt incredible, and it was awesome being able to do everyday things again like before the Crohns days. Doctors usually won't even consider prescribing LDN, so I suggest finding a Naturopath in your area! That's how I got it.

Sorry I don't have info on that but am interested in it. Unfortunately can't find a doctor in my town to prescribe it. Please post back as to if it helps you. It's appealing in that it doesn't have the bad side effects from what I've heard. I'm on Remicade now and am really afraid of it's potetial effects.
