Entyvio Leg Cramps?!?!?

Fri, April 28, 2017 11:46 PM

So, quick story... I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2010 after coming back from Iraq (where supossedly over 100,000 bad batches of small pox vaccination were given out to military personel leaving to go over seas that time frame and others have had stomach problems from my old batallion)... I was put on Remicade for 2 years till my white blood cells fought it off and it stopped working. Then I was put on Humira and Many other meds (even when iwas on remicade it was pain meds and other meds)... In 2015 I had a horrible flair and went straight to the hospital... After an Emergency Colonoscopy and 2 month stay they diagnosed me dual with UC and Chrones... Also diagnosed with full blown lupis after the humira gave it to me and would not go away. Now they have me on Entyvio... I have been on it for 2 years. I would wake up maybe once a month with leg cramps in the beginning and now it seems its 2-3 times a week. I was wondering and asking if anyone else has had this problem with Entyvio. I only take Entyvio because, the mp6 makes me very sick. When I get my infusion I feel crappy for a day or two but, I have always been that way with Remicade and Humira for some reason. I told my Gastro and they say the same thing everytime. Its not the medicine... It is the medicine because, it only happens when I take the infusion. I did have a 6 month furlough of the Entyvio of not being on it... not once did I get a leg cramp. Please someone I dont feel very sick besides the daily tiredness and #2's but, honestly Its been that way since 2010 so its w/e. Thank You so much ahead for responding.

I was diagnosed with UC (3) years ago going from Mesalamine to Remecade to Entyvio currently. I too suffer severe leg cramps. I keep myself well hydrated and have been trying everything to get rid of them. My GP suggested an OTC of Brewers Yeast. It has been used for women's menstrual cramps is my understanding. I am a big man and currently take (3) pills, twice a day. This has helped immensely but not 100%. I have been thinking that my body has been reduced of potassium and/or electrolytes. With that I have added bananas maybe (3) days a week and most recently I am trying Gatorade Zero. I do not need more sugar so I am trying the Zero. This appears to be working for me. My leg cramps come less often and far less severe. I have been looking to find if leg cramping is a side effect and this is the first forum that I have seen leg cramps mentioned. I thank you guys for the dialog. I hope others may have some remedies for these cramps.

Hi Godxcel,
Sorry to hear about your condition. I hope your recover soon and start living a healthy life. When my uncle was dealing with the leg cramp, he was also not able to move faster. He just used to walk frequently and only for some time. We had consulted number of doctors for the treatment but none of them was satisfactory. Finally on consulting a therapist, he recommended to install the walk in bathtubs so that my uncle could get the hydro massage daily and can recover himself from the leg pain faster. The tub has the embedded hydro as well as hot water massage feature that helps a person in getting relief from any kind of body pain. He got the tub installed from the walk in tub Tucson (http://www.walkinbathtubaz.com/tucson-walk-in-tubs-az/) and started taking the massage daily. Now he is doing very well and also overcoming from his leg pain. You can also use this for your leg cramp Godxcel and can get relief from leg cramp.
