Treatment options to decide

Hi, my son 9 years old (60lb)and just has been diagnosed with crown's. His doctor said it Chron's colitis since he only had inflammation in his colon, nothing in the small intestines. It's at the beginning of the colon, the end some, and patches in between. After the diagnosis she put him on steroids for 5 weeks (taper plan) that he still has 2 weeks of. Doctor prescribed ASA Lialda first (2x1.2rg tablets) but after we saw the pill's size, figured he won't be able to swallow them, so she prescribed Pentasa from the same group, (2x500mg capsules twice a day).So 4 in total. We haven't started him on it yet, hoping to get a second opinion on the treatment/dosage before we start it. Would lialda be better than pentasa since it releases only in the colon versus pentasa that starts in small intestine where he doesn't have inflammation? If so we might get him to practice swallowing with candy to be able to do lialda.
